Jude’s love of the outdoors and passion for fishing began at an early age. He has many memories from early childhood of fishing with his father and siblings. Whether fishing for panfish in ponds or creeks or chasing larger quarry in rivers and lakes, Jude was happy to be angling during his formative years.
As he grew into an adult, his love of fishing grew as well. Fishing for smallmouth bass in London, Ontario’s Thames River or for their largemouthed cousins in gravel pits within biking distance helped to feed Jude’s hunger for the outdoors and hone his angling skills.
Jude’s lifetime fishing partner and brother, Ray, was always at his side. In fact, Ray would be the driving force behind most trips and was always the last one to put his pole down. The St.John brothers graduated from land based fishing when they bought their first boat. This gave them access to bigger waters and they took full advantage of the opportunity.
The brothers did the majority of their fishing on Lake St.Clair out of Mitchell’s Bay. The routinely chased largemouth and smallmouith bass, pike, muskies, walleyes, and panfish of every sort. An occaisional trip with the downriggers for salmon and trout was not out of the equation either.
Jude credits his older brother Ray and his father Ray Sr. for his passion for fishing. He still views the smallmouth bass as the king of freshwater fish. He looks forward to sharing many more days of fishing with his family and friends.
